  • 5% aqueous solution of Simulgel EG (Seppic)

Phase E

  • 12.5% aqueous solution of Laponite XLS (Rockwood/Southern Clay) (Sodium magnesium silicate and tetrasodium pyrophosphate)

Procedure

Add Syntran PC 5620 to covered batch tank. With constant agitation, slowly add 28% ammonium hydroxide. In a separate vessel, premix phase B with appropriate agitation. Slowly add all of phase B to phase A with constant agitation. Stir for 30 minutes and avoid aeration. With constant agitation carefully add each phase C ingredient (Pigment dispersions). Stir until pigments are uniformly dispersed. Separately prepare a 5% wt/wt aqueous Simulgel EG solution. Add phase D to batch and stir for 15 minutes. Separately prepare a 12.5% wt/wt aqueous solution of Laponite XLS. Stir until clear and fully hydrated (at least 1 hour). Add phase E to batch and stir for 20 minutes.
